ALAA FAWAZ
Alaa Fawaz, a 3rd year Law Student. Having been a youth campaigner since the age of 14, Alaa shares her journey from being heavily engaged in political affairs, to feeling disillusioned with the political system. Alaa explores how politics is no longer restricted to party politics, with the nature of political participation changing amongst young people. Alaa seeks to reignite faith in young people who feel like they haven’t found a ‘home’ within politics and to encourage them to politicize outside of traditional processes in their own spaces. Alaa discusses how politics should not be over-intellectualised as the personal is political and thus young people ought to reclaim power from politicians and direct our own future.
