The Speakers
Fiona is a Professor of Environment and Development at the University of Birmingham. Her interests and experience focus on natural resource governance and management in developing country settings, particularly within inland fisheries and coastal locations in East and Southern Africa, and on exploring the links between poverty and the environment.
Nick is an Associate Professor at the University of Warwick. His research and teaching interests include American literature and culture from the nineteenth century to the present, especially within a world-ecological frame. As well as Hawthorne and Whitman; Marxism, the Frankfurt School and critical media theory; modernism/modernity, world-literature and the Anthropocene; and contemporary avant-garde poetry and poetics.
Steffi Bednarek is a psychotherapist and climate psychologist with over 20 years of experience. She is also a writer, speaker and adviser on climate psychology, collective trauma and systems thinking, with her work being published in the Huffington Post, the BBC, and many academic journals.
Ryuji is an animal rights activist who is behind Peace by Vegan. He is a filmmaker raised in France who dedicated his life to changing the way we as humans view animals through social media content.
